In the summer months Las Vegas typically has temperatures that exceed 100 degrees (F)*. If you are sensitive to the: heat or cannot control your body temperature, please make sure to bring plenty of water and include a spray bottle or mister to keep you from overheating in the extreme desert heat. On the other hand, be sure to bring warm clothing in the winter months, as temperatures can be wickedly cold when you figure in the wind-chill factor!

Please verify and make sure when you book your room, that you have given the Reservations Clerk complete and necessary information, so that you are provide a room that fits your specific needs! (Example: Roll-In Shower, etc.) Mostly all casinos & hotels offer various types of accessible rooms. Your best bet is still to plan your trip well in advance to guarantee that you receive the most pleasant experience.

Hello and welcome to Access in Las Vegas, your online access guide to the fabulous city of Las Vegas, Nevada. My name is Michelle and I am a local here in Las Vegas. I also happen to use a wheelchair due to a car accident in 1996. I know planning a trip can sometimes be a headache, and it even gets more complicated when you have a disability. That is why I have created this site, to take the headache out of your planning. Just think of me as your personal tour guide to the city of Las Vegas. I have been up and down the strip, as well as other parts of Vegas to give you a detailed outlook of what the city of Las Vegas offers for accessibility. Treasure Island at The Mirage is located at the center of the strip giving you close access to all the action in Las Vegas. This beautiful Caribbean themed hotel & casino has much to offer it's visitors. Some of the attractions you will find here is the explosive pirate battle with sinking ship and all, the mysterious show Cirque du Soleil, and various gourmet restaurants.

Special Accommodations
Treasure Island is the recipient of the distinguished AAA Four - Diamond Award for its excellence in facilities and superior guest service. This means, they are also superior in catering to their disabled travelers, as well.

Treasure Island is in full compliance with ADA and offers accessible Deluxe rooms, Petite Suites, and Tower Suites. A total of 68 deluxe rooms and 5 suites in the same design as our standard guest rooms/suites are available to accommodate physically challenged guests.

Treasure Island is in full compliance with ADA and offer two guest rooms that are equipped with the Handi Move System to accommodate physically impaired guests. Due to the limited number of rooms available detailed information needs to be communicated to the Front Desk in order to ensure these rooms are available upon check in.

Accessible Rooms - 68 Deluxe Rooms + 5 Suites
*All accessible rooms feature a Mountain/Sunrise view.
*All accessible rooms feature queen-size beds and have a connecting room.
*Entry and bathroom doors are 3 feet wide.
*Two peepholes provided (one at 44"and one at 60").
*Light switches are situated at 54" above the floor and thermostat at 44".
*Additional power outlet is provided adjacent to the bed at 34".
*All doors are designed to accommodate wheel chair turning.
*Bathroom feature handrails and counters are designed to accommodate wheelchairs.
*Accessible closets with shelves at 44" height.
*Visual and audible fire alarm/speaker system throughout the hotel.
*39 guest rooms are designed for the hearing impaired with a door button and
a phone which activates lights in the bedroom area and the living room.
*Accessible suites feature accessible tubs and roll-in showers (no Jacuzzi tub).

*Two suites are also featured with door/phone light of the hearing impaired. There are four accessible Caribbean Suites (Petite) and one accessible Buccaneer Bay Suite (Tower Suite). All suites feature a limited view.

Handi-Move - Total Accessible 2 Rooms Available
*Both rooms are queen/queen a non-smoking located near the elevator.
The rooms feature Mountain views and include a roll-in shower.
Fully motorized drapes.
*Handi Move lift and truck (max. capacity is 300 lb.).
*Touch control lamps.
*Cordless phone.
*Refrigerator.
*Evacuation sign.
*Lift and telephone in bathroom.
*Electric adjustable beds.
*Bed side rails (stored underneath the bed).
*An Assistant Hotel Manager and Security will meet the guest and help demonstrating the equipment.
